Angel Botello started his artistic training at the School of Art of Fernando Academy in Madrid when he was 22 years old. Angel Bottello’s artwork encompasses the mediums of drawing, painting, and printmaking. Using both Impressionist and post-Impressionist techniques, he painted the landscapes and people of Haiti after moving there in 1944. The most successful of Angel Botello’s artworks were painted after he moved to Puerto Rico in 1953. He painted the local culture, native islanders, and girls sunning themselves. Angel Botello’s prints from this time show his fascination with the bronzed women of the island and have an abstract feel. Some of Angel Bottello’s art for sale includes bronze sculptures that he produced toward the end of his life in the 1980s.
